Apple will be launching the new M4 chip-powered MacBooks and iPads by the end of this month. The same has been confirmed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He also predicts that the new MacBooks will go on sale starting November 1, with the launch expected in the last week of October. Apple has not announced an official date of the event yet. Ahead of that, a Russian YouTuber claims to have got his hands on the unreleased M4 MacBook Pro and has revealed benchmark scores and other details about the new Apple laptop.
There has obviously been a lot of doubt about whether this is a genuine video, because it rarely ever happens that Apple’s unreleased products get leaked or given to a particular reviewer in advance. However, Gurman has also shared the YouTube video and believes that it could be genuine. There is another user on X who shared some more images of the M4 MacBook Pro, claiming that it is on sale on a private Facebook group.
The leak reveals a MacBook Pro with M4-chip, 14-inch display, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage. A retail box of the MacBook, which shows a sealed box, is shown in the pictures and the video. All these details are also on the retail box, which further suggest that it could possibly be genuine. The only thing the internet is doubtful about is that the wallpaper on the MacBook on the retail box is the same as last year. While Gurman says that may not mean much, another leakster suggests it could possibly be the base variant of the existing MacBook Pro getting a specs overhaul. Which means, when Apple launches the new MacBooks this month, there is a chance that the existing MacBook Pro series gets an upgrade with a new M4-chip variant.

The Russian YouTuber who claims to have also run benchmark tests on the new M4 MacBook Pro has revealed some critical details about the new Apple laptops. He suggests that the new MacBooks are going to come with big upgrades, including faster performance, more RAM, and more ports.
As per the video of the unreleased M4 MacBook Pro, the purported 14-inch Apple laptop will feature several key upgrades, starting with a new M4 chip, which reportedly offers a 25 per cent performance boost over its predecessor, the M3 chip. This new processor will include a 10-core CPU, as compared to the M3’s 8-core configuration. The M4 chip was first introduced in the iPad Pro in May, showcasing its faster speeds, and the new MacBook Pro is expected to benefit from similar enhancements in both speed and efficiency.
Additionally, it’s expected that the base model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro will come with 16GB of RAM, aligning with earlier speculations that Apple would make this the minimum RAM capacity for future Mac devices. On the connectivity front, the MacBook Pro may also see an upgrade from two Thunderbolt 3 ports to three Thunderbolt 4 ports, further improving performance and data transfer speeds.
Aesthetic changes are also on the horizon, as the Space Black colour, previously exclusive to high-end configurations with the M3 Pro or M3 Max chips, is expected to become available for the base model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, adding more variety in design options for users. These upgrades suggest that Apple is poised to deliver a faster, more powerful, and more visually versatile MacBook Pro in its next release.
While the amount of details these leaks reveal makes it seem like these could be true, however, it’s best to still take all this information with a pinch of salt, because there is no way for us to independently verify these claims.
The Apple Event in October will be its last launch event for 2024. On October 28, Apple is also scheduled to release some new Apple Intelligence features. The MacBook Air and iPad Air series are expected to be upgraded sometime in early 2025.
